Still here? That’s great!
So, yes, I do a little bit of everything. It keeps life spicy, I think. I’ve been doing what I do from the beautiful town of Omaha, Nebraska, since 2002. I’ve worked in a graphic design boutique; in advertising agencies big and small; and since 2008 I’ve been the producer/director/stage manager/janitor of my own business, Vossome. The most rewarding work I do has been teaching design at Metropolitan Community College since 2004, which I do concurrent to my visual-storytelling endeavors now. During the Fall of 2010 I was also a lecturer at Creighton University.
I’ve been sure to keep active in the AIGA, and had a love affair with my local chapter that included fours years on their Board of Directors. But I try to spread that love around, so I help out my friends at the local AAF when I can, too.
Being solo (+ dog) each day means I connect to my network online, and I’ve been a believer in social media since blogs became a “thing.” You can find some really old, out-of-date, and terrible writing on Be A Design Group and some fresh, up-to-date, terrible writing at my design blog 36 Point. That is also where I host The Reflex Blue Show, a bi-weekly podcast about graphic design now in its third season, with my good friend Donovan Beery of Eleven19. That’s even where my webcomic, 1PT.Rule, lives.
And that about sums it up! I’ve done lots of cool stuff in my days, and I want to keep doing more. Now that you know me a little better than I know myself, why not take a look at some of the stuff I’ve done?
